Dist:0.3km<br/>The wild daffodils bloom while there is still the maximum amount of light passing through the woodland canopy. Small, when compared to garden varieties, Narcissus pseudonarcissus has pale petals and a darker central trumpet. It grows in groups in woods, fields and orchards, and is a striking sight in the woodlands around Newent and Dymock. Also known as the Wild daffodil or Lent lily, the daffodil is the national symbol of Wales and also the County Flower of Gloucestershire. During the 1930s, ‘Daffodil Specials' travelled from London bringing visitors to see the flowers.
