Dist:0.4km<br/>The old belfry ladder is attached to the wall. There is a modern metal one in the south west corner of the tower. The bell ropes are hanging down and you can clearly see the red sallies, the soft hand grips used in the handstroke when change ringing. Dist:0.4km<br/>One of the Framland churches this is believed to date from the 12th century with the oldest part being the tower. The stonework suggests that materials were taken from several different quarries; one form of stone that can be seen is the local reddish ironstone. The Framland hundred in north-east Leicestershire roughly corresponded to today's borough of Melton. It was recorded in the Domesday Book as one of Leicestershire's four wapentakes. The name is still in use for a deanery of the Diocese of Leicester in the Church of England.
