Dist:1.0km<br/>According to the caption written on the print, this picture of the Oulton Park circuit was taken in July 1960. The racing cars all look like Minis. The return straight from the far end of the circuit is visible in the middle distance - this is now broken up by a chicane. I think the tarmac section just in front of the photographer was a return road to the paddock - a proper circuit section was later added a bit further down to create a shorter lap option. Note the complete lack of any safety barriers. Most UK circuits started out as airfields, so they are very flat, but we were told Oulton Park was a tank testing area - I guess it was parkland associated with a grand house before that.
