Dist:0.2km<br/>The train about to cross the bridge is the local service from Birmingham New St. For some time the local authorities along this route have campaigned to have the line electified, so far, to no avail. It seems rather odd though as the line is electrified from Birmingham to Walsall and along the West Coast Main Line at Rugeley Trant Valley - the station where the local train terminates.

Dist:0.2km<br/>Lea Hall is a large social club in Rugeley in Cannock. Many of its 1,500 members are former miners. As part of the redevelopment of the entrance area the members and committee raised money to commission a piece of public art for the front of the building.

Dist:0.4km<br/>Seen from below Bridge No 65. The canal is 93.5 miles in length from Derwent Mouth to Preston Brook. The first sod was cut by Josiah Wedgwood in July 1766 at Middleport (Stoke-on-Trent). It took eleven years to build. This section between Derwent Mouth and Shugborough (the junction with the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal) was operational by 1770. James Brindley was the engineer until his death in 1772. Staffordshire's "Way for the Millennium" long distance footpath utilises the towpath between here and Great Haywood.
