Dist:0.3km<br/>Notice board, postbox and K2 type telephone box make up the communications available in Roundway. In 1935, the Post Office commissioned a new kiosk from Sir Giles Gilbert Scott to celebrate the Jubilee of King George V. The K6 Jubilee Kiosk, as it is known, was similar to the K2 box, being made of cast iron and painted red but was 25% lighter in weight. By the end of the 1930s there were 20,000 K6 telephone boxes in use all over the UK.

Dist:0.6km<br/>Taken outside the car park at the top of the hill. Looking in the direction of Devizes though there is little of it to be seen here. If you want to find this spot take the A361 out of Devizes and look for Folly Road on the left. Some good walking here.

Dist:0.6km<br/>The byway here has been made up sufficiently to cope with the 4x4 traffic that frequents this area. The variety of tracks cross the nearby downs and include well known routes such as the Ridgeway. Leipzip Plantation, the top of which is shown in this photograph, has also occasionally suffered from the effects of motorized transport - see http://www.bbc.co.uk/wiltshire/news/032002/04/four.shtml for more details.

Dist:0.6km<br/>Designer of the Devizes Millennium White Horse. - "This is the newest of the Wiltshire white horses. Designed by Peter Greed, it was cut by around two hundred local people in 1999 to mark the millennium. It is on Roundway Hill to the north of Devizes, overlooking the village of Roundway. Dist:0.7km<br/>This image is centred on Le Marchant Barracks shown in [[SU0162]] and covers the full extent of Devizes from the warehousing and light industrial units to the north west of the town (nearest Roundway hill and so shown in most detail here) through to the mostly residential western edge of the town. As might be inferred from the relative sparsity of buildings clearly shown above the trees, the majority of buildings in the town are one or two story residential properties.
