A group of local people have come together to set up and and run the “24 Carrots” Jewellery Quarter (JQ) Farmers’ Markets in the Big Peg Car park. Each market will consist of 20-30 stalls. Any and all surpluses will be re-invested back into the development of the market and for the improvement of the area for the benefit of the community.

Zumba classes are held every Tuesday from 8:30pm to 9:30pm at Fitness First in Bearwood. Free, safe, on-site parking available. £5 per class with discounts available for regular attendees. Classes are taken by a fully qualified Zumba instructor with additional dance and fitness qualifications.

We've been working with young people in Lozells to create a news programme and website.

can uk (a design and media company - lm@can-uk.co.uk) and Birmingham City Council Housing Education Initiative (HEI) worked with primary school children in the Lozells area of Birmingham to present their own news programmes.

Pupils attended media training workshops at the CAN studio in preparation for scripting and filming the actual news broadcast. The finished work is being distributed both online and on DVDs.
