On a flight from Luton to Kerry the plane passed over Ross on Wye. The River Wye is clearly seen to the left meandering towards the town and away again. Although this image covers 20 or more squares I have allocated it to the square containing the town centre. For next aerial image see [[[773884]]]

The terrace of the Royal Hotel gives an excellent viewing platform even on a December Saturday lunchtime.
Ross Rowing Club's Clubhouse is to the right and the A40 viaduct further beyond.

Looking towards the town from the Bridstow Bridge as the water level starts to drop a little following a couple of rain-free days. The spire of St Mary's stands between the Penyard, to the left, and Chase Wood to the right.

A regatta takes place here every summer (floods permitting).
In the distance is the A40 bridge which dates back to the late 1950's.
