Dist:0.1km<br/>In the heyday of the Corporation bus, there was always friendly rivalry between the various towns in Lancashire and Yorkshire as to who operated the smartest vehicles. Pride of place in this contest, at least on the Lancashire side, went to Rochdale, who by 1964 had changed their previous blue and cream 'streamlined' livery to one of cream with blue relief. This AEC Regent V dating from 1947 stands on Newgate in the town centre, on its cross-town route from Syke to Turf Hill.
