Dist:0.1km<br/>The nursing home was originally a hospital, as one might guess from the large ventilaion turret on the roof. It is captioned 'Fever Hospital' on the 1930s six-inch map and also on the 1:2500 map of 1893 (although the buildings in this image did not appear until the 1908 revision).

Dist:0.3km<br/>The headquarters of Morrison's supermarkets. Since it is a Saturday the carpark has plenty of space. The name "Hilmore" is a tribute to Sir Ken Morrison's mother Hilda and was used for a time as a brand name on some of their own-label goods.

Dist:0.3km<br/>Not big enough to be on the OS map, but heading for Calverley. It seems that the cables have been underground in the built-up area, and here come up into the fresh air, no doubt with a sigh of relief. I didn't notice the voltage, but they might be 11KV, or even 33 KV.
