Dist:0.3km north<br/>This memorial clock, which stands near the bottom of Stepney Green, is dedicated to the memory of one Stanley Atkinson, who was a barrister and much-valued Councillor and later, Alderman of the borough, but who died in 1910 at the early age of 37.

Dist:0.3km north<br/>The building on the right is Stepney Green Court, formerly Stepney Dwellings. It was built in 1896 by the 4% Industrial Dwellings Company. This Jewish company, chaired by Nathaniel, Lord Rothschild, built good quality, but low rent, accommodation for the working poor of the East End. The Rothschilds raised the money for the construction from wealthy Jewish businessmen on the understanding that the profits for the shareholders would be limited to 4%. The cobbled street is defaced with the usual over-zealous yellow lining.

Dist:0.3km north<br/>Founded in 1719 by local brewer Henry Raine, the school has, over the years, occupied four different buildings in the East End. This was its third and in the 1980s it relocated to Bethnal Green.

Dist:0.3km north<br/>Although it clearly is a church, this building calls itself a 'meeting house'. This modern building houses a congregation which dates back to 1644. As they were dissenters, they were not then allowed to use the term 'church', so when they acquired their first building in the 18th Century, the term 'Meeting House' was used, and in modern times is a pleasing link with history. The building itself shows that it is still possible in modern times to construct something whose lines are pleasant and harmonious.

Dist:0.4km north<br/>This archway stands on the south side of Stepney Green near the bottom. Perhaps it was the entrance to the Red Coat School, which stood near to here.
