Dist:0.1km<br/>The bridge is still in use carrying the double track line that serves Worcester Foregate Street Railway Station. Just past the railway bridge, the towpath is taken over a small bridge, under which is the access from the canal to Lowesmoor Wharf, which is now used by Worcester Marina.

Dist:0.1km<br/>Also known as the Westbury Street Bridge. A very distinctive and much photographed bridge. I had already taken a few shots and was on the return leg when I heard the train on its way. I'm quite pleased with the result.

Dist:0.1km<br/>A more general [- but a little blurred -] view on the same day as [[[2926164]]] to Shrub Hill Station in the middle distance, across the Worcester Loop line and dual Locomotive Depot. The 'Passenger' Shed is in the centre, the 'Goods' Shed on the right, the coaling and ash-disposal 'facilities' nearer; over on the left is the ex-GWR Locomotive Works and part of the Goods Yard. Between the two engine sheds is the 'Vinegar Branch', which goes down through the town to serve various industrial premises and is famous for its railway signals controlling road traffic. The general smoke obliterates the course of the lines between Shrub Hill and Foregate Street; the Cathedral is just visible through the gloom.

Dist:0.2km<br/>View east across the Worcester & Birmingham Canal to a plot of over fifty allotments, which stretch up to the road behind the wall. The large houses and gardens of Lansdowne Crescent at the top of the hill. The allotment site is probably the best urban site for slow-worms in England. As a result, Worcester Council has designated it a 'slow-worm sanctuary' and built some special hibernation shelters.
