Dist:0.1km north<br/>The Poyle Pump on the Bath Road, Poyle, between Poplar Close and Sherbourne Close. It stands nearly 3 metres tall. Inscriptions on or near the pump read: 'The Poyle Pump erected in 1827 by the Colnbrook Turnpike Trust. Restored in 1992. Contractor CDR Construction Ltd' 'This pump was erected by order of "Beau" Nash of Bath in 1754' (The 1827 date is more likely - see this pump's mate [[136930]].)

Dist:0.6km east<br/>Mad Bridge which carried the Bath Road over the Wyrardisbury River (a branch of the River Colne). The Bath Road has been re-aligned at this point and this view is taken looking under the new bridge which takes the road over the river and the M25 motorway. (RWH image ref 038029)

Dist:0.9km northwest<br/>The centre of the north parapet of Colnbrook Bridge - see [[[88250]]]. The upper stone gives a date of 1777 - presumably the construction of the bridge. Historically this bridge was on the boundary between Buckinghamshire and Middlesex. The lower plate is a Coal and Wine Tax "Post" (Nail Number 78 - http://www.rhaworth.myby.co.uk/coalwine/spelthor.htm#TQ028770 ) placed there in 1861.

Dist:0.9km northwest<br/>The north parapet of Colnbrook Bridge over the Coln Brook. This is Park Street. The other side of the bridge is Bridge Street. Both are really part of the Bath Road. In the foreground we see a Coal and Wine Tax Post (Nail Number 77 - http://www.rhaworth.myby.co.uk/coalwine/spelthor.htm#TQ028770 ). The stone and white plate in the left of the picture can be seen in more detail in [[[88255]]]

It has been issued with a permit under pollution prevention and control legislation by the Environment Agency (IPPC Permit BT2866). Confusingly it has an authorisation number FP3534SB issued by the EA: http://maps.environment-agency.gov.uk/wiyby/queryController?topic=pollution&ep=2ndtierquery&lang=_e&layerGroups=1&x=503880.0&y=177330.0&extraClause=AUTHORISATION_ID~'FP3534SB'&extraClause=YEAR~'2005' which may relate to a previous control regime.
