Not a sight that's normally available for photographs, the VT shipbuilders in Portsmouth Harbour were open to the public for the International Festival Of the Sea, 2005.

A tower block in Portsea named after a local worthy. I was once visiting a friend who lived on the 19th floor when a gust of wind hit the block and it SWAYED. Since then he comes to me.

Some visitors to the site might wonder why I have taken such an unremarkable sixties block. Inside are the homes of some of the nicest people you could wish to meet, and "-Geograph- photograph every grid square" should record communities as well as feature.

Dist:0.1km<br/>Sarah Robinson House in Queen Street. About 20 years ago I visited an elderly parishioner from the nearby church who had been marooned by a failing lift. Notwithstanding a climb up to the 19th floor with two heavy bags of groceries, once inside I could not help but notice that each little gust of wind caused the building to shake alarmingly. "Oh," said the old boy cheerfully "you should have been up here during The Great Storm of '87- I thought I was going to die!".
