Dist:1.1km east<br/>Bow Bridge, this version was built in 1840 The previous bridge had 9 arches and therefore when the barges from Bridgwater arrived at Langport wharf the cargo had to be unloaded, carried under the arches and put onto smaller barges which could go down them into town.

Dist:1.1km east<br/>The wharf was once owned by Stuckey and Bagehot, whose firm grew into The Somerset Trading Co and expanded into banking, later becoming part of NatWest, now part of the Royal Bank of Scotland. Barges traded here from Bridgwater and Taunton. Compare this view with Liz Martin's shot taken in May 2005 - see [[[11907]]]- when the housing by the wharf was under construction
