Dist:0.5km<br/>This is what remains of the original steam powered pumping station. Built in 1824 this contained two beam engines - "Holland" (80 hp by Butterley) and "Kesteven" (60 hp by Fenton & Murray). Only the nameplates survive. The surviving building has been much altered and houses a company museum. There are adjoining workshops. All pumping now occurs on the other side of the main road.

Dist:0.6km<br/>This is the 1964 diesel house. The green pipes are the discharges that form an inverted U siphon. There is a vacuum breaker inside on the apex of each siphon to prevent backflow. This eliminates the need for a discharge penstock.

Dist:0.6km<br/>This drains deeping Fen. The building on the right was built 1956 and contains the electric Adventurer's pumps. The building on the left was built in 1964 and houses three Ruston diesels. Two are turbocharged and of 650 hp with 60" Gwynnes vertical axis axial flow pumps and the other is a 410 hp naturally aspirated engine with 50" pump.

Dist:0.6km<br/>Two of the 1964 Ruston diesels. 650 hp turbocharged engine closest and 410 hp naturally aspirated furthest away. Both straight sixes. Driving vertical axis axial flow Gwynnes pumps via David Brown gear boxes. It is true that they don't make them like that any more.
