Dist:0.2km<br/>There are several legends about the ancient bodies that miners found in this cave. Information points around the woodland walks mention it, but it is hard to find as you are discouraged from leaving the marked paths.

Dist:0.3km<br/>This lake by the roadside near Pant-y-llyn is a turlough - a lake that is not filled by any surface streams, but instead is supplied from below by the water table rising through the limestone.

Dist:0.3km<br/>Right beside a forest walk around the quarry and turlough is this cave entrance. The gap is so small that only the warning plaque telling you not to enter lets on that it is actually a cave. To get some idea of the scale the warning sign is about the size of a greeting card.

Dist:0.4km<br/>A Disused Quarry near Llandybie. For a while in the 1990s it looked like this quarry would be re-opened but it has now been turned into a nature reserve and has several marked walks around its circumference.

Dist:1.0km east<br/>With the opening of the Llanelly Railway in 1857 the quarries at Llandybie were developed on a large scale. The bank of six ornate kilns were built in 1856 by the surveyor and architect R K Penson who was heavily involved in the development of the quarries. Later extensions took the number of kilns in production to nine by 1900.

Dist:1.3km south<br/>This is the view to the south at a junction of farm tracks on a hill west of Llandybie. There are no buildings nearby and it is unclear why anyone would bring the shell of a car with no engine up here todump it.

Dist:1.5km west<br/>Most of this parcel of the nature reserve is a small or large quarry from the past that is slowly returning to the wild. This is part of the largest quarry. There are still some huge exposed slabs. This particular part seems to have been abandoned during being worked.

Dist:1.6km west<br/>This part of the reserve, enclosed by roads, has many old abandoned quarries. In fact a swathe of land running beyond to the east and west has been used for limestone quarrying at one time or other. Like many with any significant sized chamber intact, these kilns have been blocked off for safety.
