Dist:0.8km<br/>This ruined jetty is not shown on the 1882 O.S.map, so must have been constructed later as industry developed in the area. Its size suggests that it was important, and the curve suggests that a rail line may have gone out onto the jetty to allow for the speedy loading of cargo onto the vessels. The massive timbers are rotting away slowly and no doubt the jetty will disappear completely in time. See also [[387687]] and [[387693]]

Dist:0.8km<br/>Looking east, away from Queensferry, at the ruined jetty. The size of the structure seems to indicate that once it was important to the industry in the area. This end of the jetty seems to be in a particularly bad state, and each high tide will strain the structure further. See also [[387683]] and [[387687]]

Dist:0.8km<br/>According to the 1882 O.S. map this track and footpath was once a rail line, which ran from a colliery at 'Big Mancot' out to a jetty on the edge of the River Dee. Presumably the line carried coal from the colliery out to vessels waiting in the river.

Dist:0.8km<br/>Looking along the River Dee towards Saltney and Chester we can see this World War Two pillbox half buried after work has been done to build up the embankment. At least one other pillbox along the Dee has been removed, but this one remains. It is not recorded on any map I have seen, but by carefully comparing the Windows Live Local aerial photograph with Magic Map, I estimate it is just a few metres inside the square SJ3367. There is another pillbox nearer to Chester, which isn't buried and is in better condition - see [[340610]] .
