Dist:0.2km<br/>This Victorian church, consecrated on 15 May 1854, is reputed to be one of the most beautiful churches in Cornwall and was said by John Betjeman to be "a complete period piece of the high Church good taste". Dist:0.3km<br/>Built as a Bible Christians Chapel in 1844, as noted on the stone on the gable end. Grade II listed http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/Details/Default.aspx?id=66577&mode=adv. The embankment of the Paddington-Penzance main line railway is immediately adjacent to the church.

Dist:0.4km<br/>This terrace of housing looks like it might be in any large industrial city. In fact it is in the heart of the small village of Penponds near Camborne in Cornwall.

Dist:0.8km<br/>Judging by the grass growing from the silage, this feeding station has not been used for a while but it will take a while longer for ground so churned up by cattle to repair itself.

Dist:0.8km<br/>This local primary school occupies an old board school building built in 1910. It very obviously has a nice new roof.

Dist:0.8km<br/>Warning of the approach to Penponds School, which can be seen behind the trees. The warning lights on the sign are powered by solar energy from the photovoltaic cell which can be seen on top of the sign.

Dist:0.8km<br/>Junctions get more complicated! This is just one part of the way to join or leave the main road through west Cornwall.

Dist:0.8km<br/>This welcome sign is on the main road into Camborne from the junction with the A30. It features a mine truck which was used in South Crofty Mine, the last tin mine to be worked in Europe. The flower bed looks like it is being readied for Summer planting.
