Bill Quay library, formerly a Methodist Chapel, stood on this site, behind the phone box at the West end of Brack Terrace. It stopped functioning as a library in 1980, just before Pelaw library opened. It was subsequently used by a number of community groups for various activities, most memorable of these was an air pistol shooting club which ran from about 1983 to 1985. The building was demolished c.1995.

Running along the banks of the Tyne, Jonadab used to be a very poor area of tenements. Nowadays, it's part of Keelman's Way Cycle Route.

Leading to the more "exclusive" Braemar Court. At least that's how it seemed when there was a 7foot high fence separating "Terraced" Bill Quay from "New Estate" Bill Quay. This closed off a really useful shortcut and was perennially kicked through by indignant children from the terraces. They must have got sick of repairing it as you can freely walk between the two Bill Quays nowadays.

Built of local stone, used to have a spire, sits on Station Road above Bill Quay Park.

Much changed recently. There were a number of shops here including, a butcher's, a Post Office and a wool shop. Now there just seems to be a disproportionately large ball bearing shop.

All of these properties were given extensions in 1978. Not so long ago they all had outside toilets and baths in their kitchens.
