Best appreciated in full size, this photo was taken from a Bristol bound flight a few minutes after take-off from Glasgow International Airport. Knapps Loch and the A761 are in the left foreground, with Kilmacolm just beyond. Port Glasgow is in the centre, with Ardmore Peninsula and the sunken sugar boat MV Captayannis visible in the Firth of Clyde. The sea loch beyond is the Gareloch and the white cluster of buildings on its right shore are part of the Faslane submarine base (HMNB Clyde). The hills in the background are collectively known as Argyll's Bowling Green.
