This part of the old road is now a lay-by, used by Network Rail. It was recently fenced off and gated to prevent fly-tipping which used to happen here on a large scale.

This will be the new home for Port Glasgow Juniors FC who were evicted from the nearby Woodhall Park several years ago to make way for a non-existent industrial development [[2266912]]. There are 13 football pitches on NTS land at Parklea, mostly grass. All pitches are being improved under the same scheme which will provide the new stadium. Viewed from a Wemyss Bay bound train.
