A connection to the mains is still needed however as the wind does not always blow. On the pond on the right, it is strange to see a small motor cruiser. I wonder where it is off to?

Dist:1.2km south<br/>A Hereford bull and two cows relax near their silage supply. The big bales of silage are transported to the trough on a spike on the fore-end loader of a tractor, which has left its wheelmarks in the mud. In the distance can be seen two farms above the scrubby slopes, and there are some tracks, including the footpaths marked on the map.

Dist:1.3km south<br/>This old stone milestone stands by the A475 road. It also bears a benchmark which indicates that the height above sea level of this point has been accurately measured. However, the map does not show the height even though it does for many other benchmarks.

Dist:1.3km west<br/>There was a notice lower down explaining that this bridleway had been legaly diverted. I expect the residents of Abernant preferred not to have horses and people coming too close to their house. This grassy bank seems to be ungrazed with scattered gorse bushes. Where the soil has been moved to create the new bridleway, gorse seedlings have had a chance to get established in a way they could not have done in the undisturbed rough grass.
