Dist:0.7km<br/>Oxton Hall is the family home of Humphrey Smith joint owner of Samuel Smith's brewery of Tadcaster. It is said that he is one of the richest men in England but he is such a private man nobody knows. He shuns all publicity and does not let on how many pubs the company owns. It is believe that there is just over 300 Sam Smith's pubs in the country but nobody outside a few people at the brewery knows for sure. It is rumoured that he owns part of Canary Wharf and Whapping in London, parts of Bristol and most of Tadcaster. He also owns a few stone quarries in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. But being a true Yorkshireman he uses his free over 60's bus pass when he travels on the bus.
