The dedication to St Wulfran is unusual in England, the only other church so dedicated is at Grantham, Lincs. Magnus Volk, who built the famous seafront railway in Brighton, is buried in the churchyard.

Dist:0.1km<br/>View south from the bridleway that takes Ovingdean's 11th century church and accompanying flint built buildings. Much of the old village uses the same material for house building a legacy of the 18th century when old wooden structures were replaced with stone buildings sourced from whatever could be found locally and in great quantities.

Dist:0.2km<br/>The farm is some way up the lane. The field bordering the road on the left had Friesians in it - a rarer site in the countryside nowadays. This semi-rural scene hides the fact that the mass sprawl of Brighton is just over the hill.

Dist:0.3km<br/>The fence on the right is the only visible item in the image and is the only way of working out where the brow of the hill is as the snow on the ground coupled with that in the air have merged the view into one big area of white. The wind had shifted direction in the last half an hour or so from east to north and had upped its speed blowing the snow down the hill towards my position,
