Dist:0.6km<br/>The old post office (which is in the next square east) is now a b&b and tea-room, having closed as a shop/post office on 30 December 1998. The George V-reign postbox is emptied finally at 4:30pm on weekdays and at 12:45pm on Saturdays.

Dist:0.9km<br/>Highlanders are hardy grazers, they will eat a wide range of vegetation often unpalatable to most cattle. They live out in all seasons and weathers, and have a long breeding life.

Dist:0.9km<br/>The Highlander is an ancient breed of cattle with it's long horns and wavy reddish brown coats. It seems strange to see them in Dorset.

Dist:0.9km<br/>In a small field beside the road are a small herd of Highland cattle. Highlanders are short, stocky, lean and hardy yet very intelligent and mostly docile. The cows are noted for their ease of calving but do have fierce protective instincts toward their newborn calves, whilst the bulls maintain a watchful eye on their fold.
