This was the last pub before Warwick Road dropped down towards Olton 'Hollow'. The road sign for station / car park is directing traffic down Oxford Road, to station and car park off Roberts Road. Dist:0.6km<br/>On Warwick Road, in centre of AG village, opposite shops. The Catholic Church had its own secondary school on connected land behind. At time of this photo, the land to the right had been sold and awaiting development of large supermarket. I regularly attended this church in my teens/early 20s, and my father (Eric Westley) was a volunteer tutor at the junior school opposite (having retired early as teacher from Moseley School).

Dist:0.7km<br/>I worked for Midland Bank HSBC for 32 years and spent all but the last two in Birmingham Branches. I am photographing all the branches,or what's left of them, as they were when I joined Midland Bank in 1963. The branches all start with the sorting code 40-11-XX This is the 1101 Warwick Road site as occupied by Midland Bank in 1963. The sorting code is 40-11-01 and it had a sub-branch at Tyseley. The "shadow" left by the bank's sign can still be seen on the brickwork. The bank, as HSBC, now operates from the other side of the road.
