Opposite Upway, off Summers Lane, and leading to Legion Way, which is a cul-de-sac. The road name, Downway, is not displayed although it does appear on some maps - other maps show this as Summers Lane. The houses are numbered as being on Summers Lane, though the road signs disagree about which house numbers are involved. The blocks of flats in the distance are in Prospect Ring and Park Road, East Finchley.

Dist:0.2km<br/>Council Housing - probably all now private houses - on Summers Lane. The roundabout is located on the junction with the road to the civic amenity and recycling centre. It looks like there is a handy neighbour if your car won't start.

Dist:0.2km<br/>A London Ambulance Service Mercedes-Benz Sprinter makes its way gingerly between parked cars and a paramedic vehicle into the Abrahams Stadium. It was attending for a Cray Wanderers player who was suffering from concussion and was the second ambulance to attend the same emergency. The first, out of shot beside the changing rooms, was diagnosed as having a slow puncture to the rear tyre and was therefore unfit to carry the patient to hospital. The second ambulance initially turned into the adjacent Finchley Rugby Club and the paramedic, seen walking in front, was dispatched to collect it and bring it round to the Wingate & Finchley side.

Dist:0.2km<br/>The referee and his assistants lead the teams out of the tunnel for the Wingate & Finchley v Cheshunt match. The unusual colour of the ball was a Ryman League initiative for Red Nose Day and collection buckets were available at the ground.

Dist:0.2km<br/>A dark November evening and the floodlights are on at the Wingate and Finchley football ground. The home team are in their usual blue strip whilst the visitors, Tilbury, are in the stripes. The stand behind the players is the 'Jack Fisk Stand'. Behind the stand are two mini-pitches for children. The grey sheds in the background are part of the David Lloyd Centre. Wingate and Finchley went behind twice, but came back to win 3-2 on the night.

Looking across the ground from near the halfway line to the southeast corner reveals a view of Alexandra Palace on the horizon. This game marked a turning point in the club's season which had been very much mid-table form beforehand. They went on to produce a 17 match unbeaten run that saw them reach the play-offs - the highest ever finish in Wingate & Finchley's history. Note that for the 2009/10 season Ryman Division One North side Wingate and Finchley reverted to the azure blue shirt and white shorts after a season in all blue strip.

Dist:0.3km<br/>Advertising hoardings along the wall separating the fans from the pitch. The stand itself has just a single step for the fans to stand on. It is named after one of the club's groundsmen from the past, who sadly passed away within a year of retiring. His memory lives on, not just in the naming of the stand but, in excellent condition of the pitch.
