Looking east from the B3097 Hawkeridge Road across cropland as an EWS freight train passes along the Bristol-Portsmouth rail line. The plume from the chimney of the Lafarge cement works indicates the northerly wind direction. The Westbury White Horse can just be discerned on the hillside at right centre.

Dist:0.9km<br/>Clanger Wood and nearby Picket Wood are in the care of the Woodland Trust. There is a small car park, not signposted. The entrance is on the A350 a little over half a mile south of Yarnbrook. Look out for a sign board for the Equestrian Centre on the opposite side of the A350. This is a very busy road so take care when entering and leaving.

Dist:0.9km<br/>Looking slightly north of east from the Glenmore bridge over the Bristol-Portsmouth line, a diverted London-bound Adelante unit negotiates the Glenmore chord to Heywood Road Junction to gain the Hants-Berks line to Reading. The Lafarge cement works chimney can be seen slightly left of centre, and the Westbury White Horse can be seen on the edge of the Salisbury Plain just above the end of the second carriage.
