Dist:0.4km<br/>Lake House (named for nearby [[[67631]]], which it overlooks) is on the east side of Low Lane, between Smallways and Newsham. It shows every sign of being a recent barn conversion, having no windows at all on the road side, and the wall here is splattered with drips of bitumen paint, suggesting a former existence with a corrugated iron roof. The older stonework on this side also shows signs of having been enlarged, both in length and height, with new stonework, the corners now having substantial coins.

Dist:0.4km<br/>This lake has been developed quite recently. For years it was a marshy area drained by permanent pumping but the farmer has now turned off the draining with the intention of founding a nature reserve.

Dist:0.5km<br/>An extension of the lake on the other side of the A66, the pond has formed from previously marshy fields and is fed by natural springs. The pond is popluar with water birds including the Gadwall, Garganey and Cinnamon Teal. The farm Rokeby Close can be seen in the distance.

Dist:0.6km<br/>There's quite a bit of variation among oak trees. The trunk size indicates that these trees are of a similar age, but the one on the left has retained almost all its leaves into late November, whilst the one on the right has already shed most of the higher up leaves. By shedding early, this tree loses some of its vulnerability to autumn gales and can grow that bit taller, although its asymmetry does indicate that it has lost one large bough at some time.
