A T-junction of two footpaths between Arniss Farm and Newgrounds. A herd of over 20 fallow bucks frequents this area and can be seen sitting at the far side of the field to the right of the footpath sign.

Dist:0.3km<br/>The middle of Godshill's three postboxes stands in the wall outside what is recognisably the old post office. The front wall was a forecourt when the shop was operating; the postbox may have been in the wall of the shop before its closure.

The box is emptied finally at 4:30pm on weekdays and at 10:30am on Saturdays.

Dist:0.4km<br/>The B3078 road, also known as Roger Penny Way, is the main road across the north of the New Forest. At either end (here in Godshill and also at Wittensford near Cadnam) it features these large signboards which give drivers a reminder that many commoners' animals are killed on this road every year. The commoners' animals (cattle, ponies, donkeys, and at certain times of the year pigs) have right of way on the unfenced roads - any accident involving one of these animals must be reported to the police.

Dist:0.5km<br/>The Romans introduced cock-fighting to Britain and it was prohibited by Cromwell in 1653. It remained popular until sterner measures were taken in the nineteenth century. Henry VIII and James I were said to have been keen on cock-fights. Large sums of money were wagered on the outcome of the fights between specially bred birds equipped with steel spurs.
