There is a current trend within the city for care home developmments on pub sites with several complete and others in the pipeline. As can be seen the value of a 'local listing' is almost worthless if the economics of retaining the building are considered.

Dist:0.4km<br/>In 1903, a new workhouse was built on the Wednesfield Road. It provided accommodation for 669 inmates with 372 patients in the adjoining hospital. Following the closure of the Royal Hospital and the Eye Infirmary hospital services for the city are provided on a single site. Hollybush House, used for the management offices, is part of the original 1900s buildings.

Dist:0.4km<br/>The northern half of the street is a mix of sometimes damp terraced houses (built 1895) and former council stock. Houses with a roof over their door would have been municipal stock around 1990 when the council houses were refurbished. Right to buy houses would have missed this.
