Nether Hall Homepage


Located along Scraptoft Lane east of Leicester. It was originally built in Normanton near Rutland Water in 1926 but was removed brick by brick and re-built in 1931. It is now a public house.

Dist:0.4km<br/>Ancestral home of the Wigley family, this delightful Queen Anne country house of 1723 was bought by Leicester Education Committee in 1954 and evolved as an educational campus with Leicester Polytechnic and latterly De Montfort University. The campus closed in 2003 and much of the parkland developed as retirement housing, though the hall remains forlorn and vandalised.
