Dist:0.7km<br/>At its eastern end, Ellerkin Scar begins to fade out, leaving just small outcrops of limestone with scree slopes below. The top of the scar is springy limestone pasture, but this extends only 300m or so back from the edge before peat and heather covered sandstones take over, with the sandstone scar of Greets Edge some 400m to the north.

Dist:0.8km<br/>It is said that Mary Queen of Scots once spent a night in Nappa Hall and after she was executed, her ghost continued to haunt it until the bed she used was disposed of. This looks like just the sort of day when her ghost would be likely to appear.

Dist:0.9km<br/>The central section of this limestone scar which extends for nearly a mile along the northern flanks of Wensleydale. The limestone here is the 'main limestone' of the Yoredale series and occurs along both sides of Wensleydale.
