Dist:0.3km<br/>WW2 relic. This one is in the grounds of Samlesbury airport/aircraft factory with the Social club playing fields behind. Well placed to stop the German army on its march from Lancashire to Yorkshire!

Dist:0.6km<br/>At the gates of BAE, Samlesbury Airport. Components of this plane were manufactured here. I thought it was a Tornado but now it s definitely identified as a Lightning. See http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk/lightning/survivor.php?id=378. Recently damaged by nesting starlings and may be removed for restoration like the Canberra which used to stand on the other side of the gate.
