Dist:0.2km north<br/>Looking towards Halifax Road. The lane was originally just a cart track to Buttershaw Farm. This end was considered dangerous and closed to traffic.

Dist:0.2km north<br/>This might owe its existence to a Copperas works over the road. This was shown on the 1850 OS with a pond where the playground is, and it is possible that waste was tipped on the site, inhibiting housing development.

Dist:0.2km north<br/>The house on the left has a datestone 'Rose Cottage 1878, showing that this street was set out quite early, considering that it at the far western end of Hightown. There were a few small factories along Halifax Road. Beyond the modern houses is Tanner Field Terrace.

Dist:0.2km north<br/>Here the road has a sudden bend to the left. The frontage has gradually filled up with ones from probably the late 19C at each end, one from the first half of the 20C and two from the late 20C.

Dist:0.5km north<br/>The tall hedge on the right probably marks the edge of the former common land each side of Moorside. This was enclosed before 1850. The M62 is in the distance.
