Dist:0.1km<br/>47335 moves a train of presflo wagons out of the yard. These wagons were originally built to handle cement traffic but, by the time this photo was taken, were being used to move pulverised flyash from power stations for use in road construction.

On the right is the ex-Great Northern East Coast Main Line to Grantham and the North, with further over Spital Sidings and beyond Westwood Bridge the great New England Yard complex. (The big locomotive-coaling plant can just be distinguished, far right). Before 1959, these holiday trains to the East Coast would have run east from Manton via Saxby and the Midland & Great Northern route, but for a few more years they were diverted via Peterborough (North and East), March and Ely. Even at this relatively late date, 4F 0-6-0s were being used and this is ex-Midland No. 44013. It will hand over to an Eastern Region locomotive at Peterborough East or March.
