The Class H freight is headed by LMS Fowler 4F 0-6-0 No. 44602, which was one of the last built (1940), withdrawn 8/64; it has a Stanier high-sided tender. The signalbox is Millers Dale Station, Millers Dale Junction, where the line to Buxton branched off, being 1¼ miles westward.

Dist:0.3km<br/>East Buxton Lime Kilns near Miller's Dale. The rails encircled the tops of the pots, and there were two sets of rails for each pot. This ensured that an even fill of stone and coal could be achieved. Restored a few years ago, they are succumbing again to vegetation.

Dist:0.3km<br/>There is a pair of large kilns, carved into the living rock. The buttresses were added at a later date. The two kilns are served by a single access to the drawholes between the two central buttresses. Cleared and restored some years ago, they are now being encroached upon by trees again.
