Dist:0.1km<br/>These two foundation stones are to the left of the front door and are dated 5th November 1884. They were laid by Mrs Wright of Trafford Hall, and Mrs Lewis of Wimbold's Trafford. There are two more foundation stones on the right hand side of the front door - [[1669604]].

Dist:0.2km<br/>Looking west in the direction of Chester from the centre of Mickle Trafford. before the M56 was built this was the main road between Chester and Frodsham and, without traffic lights, this is a very dangerous junction. Although still a busy 'A' road, traffic is now much reduced, and the pedestrian lights make crossing the road on foot a little safer.

Dist:0.2km<br/>Looking from Station Lane towards the A56 through Mickle Trafford. There may be an early First Geodetic Levelling bench mark on the low stone wall round the corner, but the wall is covered with ivy at the relevant point, so if it is there it is not accessible at the moment.

The less obvious directions are 'ELLESMERE PORT' straight ahead, and 'TARVIN' towards the camera. The name of the maker is cast in the bottom section of the post: R T SMITH & CO WHITCHURCH SALOP [[1669475]]

Dist:0.2km<br/>This very wet, but impressive bench mark is under the bridge carrying the Chester to Warrington railway line. The line has divided just prior to Station Lane and a second bridge a few metres away carries the line to Delamere Forest, Northwich, and Manchester.

Dist:0.2km<br/>Looking northwest through the two railway bridges in Station Lane. The nearer bridge carries the line to Delamere Forest, Northwich, and Manchester, and the further bridge carries the line to Warrington. The construction of the two bridges is noticeably different.
