Dist:0.3km<br/>This is the now derelict Merther church, or Eglos Merther ("Eglos" being the Cornish for church), which is slowly collapsing in on itself. The old church bells were melted down in 1970 and made into 2 new bells for St Clement church, just over the river.

St Buryan to mark the turn of the millennium was placed here by the Right Honourable George Hugh, 9th Viscount Falmouth, 26th Baron le Despenser & Baron of Boscawen Ros. Chairman of St Michael Penkivel Parish Council 1965-1999."

Dist:1.2km west<br/>This freshwater pond is next to the Tresillion Estuary and was presumably a tidal creek before being cut off from the estuary by the building of a causeway which carries the footpath along the estuary bank.
