Dist:0.3km<br/>Dating from 1887, this is the second oldest golf club in Surrey. Its club house in Pendleton Road is Clarence Lodge, and the 1896 map shows a house of this name on this site (the 1871-2 map gives a name of Earlswood Lodge for a buildign on the same site. The clubhouse appears more modern than this, although the gateposts (with the name Clarence and Lodge carved on each) may well be original.

Dist:0.4km<br/>Old maps suggest that this house predates the development of Clarence Walk for housing in the 1930s, when Clarence Walk itself was only a footpath, of which the stretch seen in this photo, linking the present day cul de sac with Pendleton Road, is a remnant.
