Years ago, I'm told that this area was known as Rocky Path - but these days the path is paved and a recognised cycle route.

Dist:0.6km<br/>Superb views over Llanelli. My mother was a pupil at the old Victorian Bigyn school in the late 40's early 50's and remembers the landscape below being very different. Everywhere you looked there were industrial chimney stacks to remind you of what an industrial town looked like. Times change.

Dist:0.6km<br/>Myrtle House is the home of Llanelli's Elim Penticostal Church. As well as providing meeting facilities, the centre also has an accredited day care and nursery facility, a conference centre, a counselling service and a senior citizen's lunch facility. The church relocated here quite recently after the previous building needed to be demolished as part of Llanelli's ongoing modernisation. Previously the location was a nunnery.

Dist:0.7km<br/>Running parallel with Bigyn Hill. Numbers 8 to 14 visible on the left. Stradey Woods visible in the far distance. The name Prendergast is Flemish in origin and is believed to come from the 'lost' Norman/Flemish village of Brontegeest. It came to Britain with a follower of Duke William after the conquest who was given lands near Haverfordwest.

Dist:0.7km<br/>Llanelli has played an important part in the Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter Day Saints' history in Wales being the second centre to open in the principality. The first chapel was built in the centre of the town in 1849 - the first Mormon chapel built in the United Kingdom. This modern more recent building replaces the original building.
