Dist:0.2km<br/>Another path has been made on the left by the feet of the many people who perefer to walk where they can see the view. In April the heather has not produced many leaves, but the bilberry (or similar berry) has fresh leaves and is in flower.

Dist:0.3km<br/>The viewpoint is on the east side of a small valley, fringed by trees. Through a gap in the trees you cab see down onto the damp fields that slope gently northwards to Milking Hole Beck and then ride past Sand Beds Farm to Trough Lane and Hallas Rough Park (moorland).

Dist:0.4km<br/>The old footpath, is deeply hollowed into hillside. To the left of the photograph is a brick wall made of Yorkshire grit coloured red. It appears to be old, to have been here for years, but looks are deceiving for it was constructed only a few years ago by a group of local men using the stone from nearby!

Dist:0.4km<br/>The sunken path here has retaining walls on each side, and was perhaps made to give an even gradient up to a quarry, although it is rather narrow. On the left the rear of the Congregational Chapel can be seen. This is now a shred church, United Reformed, Baptist and Church of England (an offshoot of St Paul's, replacing a mission room in Longhouse Lane).
