Dist:0.2km<br/>After heavy snowfall; the air was below freezing, but ground heat was thawing the snow from below. Large ice crystals had formed on top of the snow, made from water vapour rising through the snow pack.

Attempts to find out if it has moved or been completely culled as has happened in Elphinstone have been thwarted by endless out of date directory sites clogging up search engines. Macmerry was not amongst the closures announced in 2009. -- There is now a post office on Main Road (the old A1).
