Dist:0.2km<br/>This bridleway is the continuation of Boathouse Lane up to Dransfield Hill and on to Kirkheaton. It is thought to be part of the Priests' Way from Dewsbury Minster to Kirkheaton Church. This length has retained its hedge on the western (left) side.

Dist:0.2km<br/>This came straight up the hillside, through Newhall wood, from the Newhall colliery buildings off Granny Lane to the mine at SE207184. The view is foreshortened due to using the zoom lens – the length of the track to the gate is 200m.

Dist:0.4km<br/>At this point the bridleway forks right through a gate, and becomes very muddy. Walkers can continue along the footpath for 200m and then turn right across a field to rejoin the bridleway.
