Dist:0.2km north<br/>This is one of the invisible paths due to people spreading out in the field trying to find the driest route (this is rather a wet field). Briery Bank (wood) is in the middle distance and Mirfield in the far distance.

Dist:0.2km north<br/>This bridleway is the continuation of Boathouse Lane up to Dransfield Hill and on to Kirkheaton. It is thought to be part of the Priests' Way from Dewsbury Minster to Kirkheaton Church. This length has retained its hedge on the western (left) side.

Dist:0.2km north<br/>This came straight up the hillside, through Newhall wood, from the Newhall colliery buildings off Granny Lane to the mine at SE207184. The view is foreshortened due to using the zoom lens – the length of the track to the gate is 200m.

Dist:0.4km north<br/>At this point the bridleway forks right through a gate, and becomes very muddy. Walkers can continue along the footpath for 200m and then turn right across a field to rejoin the bridleway.
