Dist:0.6km<br/>Crawter's Brook is a tributary of the River Mole and is seen here looking downstream as it approaches the perimeter fence of Gatwick Airport. At that point it makes a ninety degree turn to the west to join the Mole, but originally the brook flowed straight on and due north to join the Mole somewhere near where the airport's North Terminal is now.

This path has been in use since long before the creation of the Manor Royal Industrial Estate, immediately behind the photographer and Gatwick Airport (1.5km N of here). The path cuts diagonally SW-NE across the fields, which are growing wheat. This area is currently (2005) being suggested as a possible location for a second runway for Gatwick International Airport.

Wiliam Burgess was also the architect of Truro & Cardiff Cathedrals and Cardiff Castle. St. Michaels's was the only small church he designed in the country.It declined in importance as Lowfield Heath was gradually appropriated for the expansion of London Gatwick Airport and of its related development. The last Anglican service was held there in 2004, but the church reopened in 2008 as a Seventh-day Adventist place of worship. The building has Grade II* listed status which identifies it as a "particularly important building of more than special interest" and of national importance
