Dist:0.7km<br/>St Mary's church > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1606632 dates from the 12th and 13th centuries was was almost completely rebuilt in the 19th century and the north aisle was added at that time. The village of East Carleton once formed two parishes each of which had their own church. The two churches shared the same churchyard but St Peter's church fell into disrepair and was eventually abandoned. The ruins > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1606681 - a short section of low flint wall covered in ivy - can still be found in the churchyard on the other side of the private track that separated the two churches.
