This old corn mill was mentioned in a document of 1609. It was converted to a house in the 19C. This photo was taken looking south from SN084009.

Dist:0.5km<br/>A road sign saying 'Ford' just had to be investigated. However, a recent dry spell meant that the Ritec River was at a very low level. On the far side of the road is a pedestrian bridge with a hand rail for use when the road is flooded. Obviously well worth visiting after heavy rains.

Dist:0.6km<br/>To mitigate the effect of the 2008 post office closures, in some villages a mobile office visits once a week, such as this one, called the Pembroke Mobile, seen here at its Friday morning (9 till 10) slot at St. Florence. Inside, the counter offers a full range of post office services. The location is outside the village shop, which may well have been where the permanent post office had been, and there is a postbox just visible by the van's wing mirror.
