The quarries are not visible from here, Kaimes has been filled and the current hole in the ground at Ravelrig Hill are behind the scarp in other squares. What is visible here is the machinery for turning the stone into chippings and transporting them. Simmental cross calf in the foreground.

Dist:0.9km<br/>The quarry is identified as Ravelrig Quarry on the current OS 1:25000 map, and is in the next square to the SE. It is a huge hole [[887642]] and was not there when I last went up the hill in the 1970s; it is also not on the 2001 edition of the map.
