Dist:0.6km<br/>Buildwas Lane is a medieval cartway linking Little Wenlock with Buildwas. It's the best mountain bike descent in east Shropshire, especially in summertime when the track's dry; although it can get a bit muddy in the winter, being unsurfaced for much of its length. Apparently it features on some satnav systems as a public road, which led to an interesting incident a couple of years ago with a Tesco home-delivery driver who didn't know the area. It required a tractor to extricate his vehicle.

Dist:0.6km<br/>This area to the south of Little Wenlock was opencasted for coal in the 1960s/70s, and then infilled and landscaped. This pool was created as part of that landscaping work.

Dist:0.6km<br/>The pub closed around Christmas of 2009, and has since suffered a nasty incident with a burst pipe in the cold weather of January or February, hence the vandal-proof shuttering that has been put up whilst someone is found who's willing to offer this fine country pub a new lease of life
