Dist:0.7km<br/>To be honest, there was little of distinction in this pleasant rural gridsquare. Until the signpost at the junction of Arley Lane and Blundell Lane announced "Aberdeen 3/4mi". Local residents (who wondered if we were robbers casing the joint) pointed out that the local Baron was from Fifeshire, and chose to name districts in a manner that relieved his homesickness.

Dist:0.8km<br/>The main feature in this OS gridsquare, besides the nicely-named Dark Lane (which adjoins nondescript farmland), is a pumping station. Geographing has made me very nosey. I just had to walk down the hill to find it's owned by Transco and "transports non-odourised natural gas". Wahay!
